Pen and Ink to Digital Art

All the artwork I create, regardless of the tools used to create it, employs techniques intended to best convey the message and reflect the subject.

I have used many techniques and media over the years, such as pencil, pen and ink, watercolor, colored pencil and acrylics. I feel the media, traditional or digital, doesn't matter as much as creating the artist's vision and intention.  The best final product usually comes from combining a variety of media and tools, whether traditional or digital.

I believe ideas should start in the imagination, then developed using traditional conceptual techniques on paper or tablet.

In my work, I find starting in software to be too predefined. Once concepts are defined, digitizing artwork lets me manipulate them or create effects impossible with traditional media. I have used Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, since they were first released, as my primary digital tools for artwork.

Shown here is a wide variety of my work. If you are interested in commissioning an illustration or piece of art, please visit our contact page.
